The following are Frequently Asked Questions that our guests like to ask us.
We hope that our answers will be helpful to you also.
1. Can we pay in Euros?
You can pay in Euros, US Dollars, Singapore Dollars or Thai Baht.
2. Is there shuttle service to airport?
There is no shuttle service but guests can be picked-up by hotel limousine. Cost
is US$ 18.- for one way. Public taxi’s are also available for approximately US$5.-
to 7.-.
3. Can we buy postage stamps?
Yes, please see our front desk staff.
4. How far is it to the city?
About 3km.
5. Does hotel have electric adapter?
Yes, please see our front desk staff.
6. Is Wi-Fi available ?
Yes, Wi-Fi is free of charge and available at the lobby and Thiri cafe
as well as in most of our rooms. Please inform front desk a time of reservation
if your would like to use Wi-Fi in your room.
7. Is there a night club?
Yes, Members Club is an exclusive club in the basement of our hotel. Entrance
fee is free for In-house guests.
8. Is Internet free?
No, Internet is available at our Business Center at the rate of US$1.-
per 15 minutes.
9. We can use our mobile phone in Myanmar?
No. Mobile phones from other countries will not work in Myanmar but
there are local SIM cards that can be purchased at the travel desk (lobby level).
10. What is the check-in and check-out time?
Check in time is 14:00 hrs.
Check out time is 12:00 hrs.
If you need late checkout, kindly contact our front desk.
11. How do we go to the bridge on the lake?
Make a right turn from the main entrance of the hotel, there is a small
gate to the bridge approximately 200 meters from hotel main entrance. Entrance fee
is US$2 per person.
12. Where can we buy Myanmar traditional handicrafts and souvenirs?
At the Kandawgyi Boutique or Treasure shop in lobby level of our hotel.
There are also many souvenir shops at Boygyoke Market in down town.
13. Do you have massage service?
The Oriental Spa is located in the old wing of our hotel (lobby level).
There is traditional massage as well as Sauna and Aroma therapy massage. Foot massage
is also available on Sky View R&R at the top floor of the same wing.
14. Can I book non-smoking rooms?
Yes, we have a whole floor for all non-smokers. Our 5th floor rooms have
very nice views and are all non-smoking rooms.
15. Do you have fitness center/gym?
No.
16. How much is airport tax?
All passengers are required to pay US$10.- per person for airport
tax upon departure. Only US Dollars is accepted.
17. Can we add extra bed in the room?
It is possible to add an extra bed for US$25.- extra charge. However we
do not recommend as our rooms are rather small and extra bed will make it very tight.
18. Why is it that many shops don’t accept old US Dollar bills?
Myanmar is very different from any other country. Local banks will not
accept the old bills to be deposited. That is the reason the shops also don't
want the bills.
19. Can we pay our hotel bill with credit card?
Yes. Only VISA and MasterCard is accepted, but the bill must be converted
to Singapore Dollars under MyWallet System Pte. Ltd. There is also a 4% surcharge
on all credit card transactions. If possible we always prefer cash. There
are no Banks in Myanmar that gives us credit card facilities. That's why we
have to use a Singapore account and try to make the transaction through the internet.
Most of the time, internet does not work, and this makes it very difficult for us
to process the transaction. |
